Probiotics are live bacteria and/or yeasts that naturally live in your body. When you get an infection, there’s more bad bacteria, knocking your system out of balance. Probiotic bacteria restore the balance. Probiotics exert their effects usually in the gastro-intestinal tract, where they may influence the intestinal microbiota. Probiotics can transiently colonize the human gut mucosa in highly individualized patterns,

People can also kill off their good bacteria when taking antibiotics, often resulting in constipation and need to restore a normal state by taking probiotics.

There are many types of bacteria that can be considered probiotics, but there are two specific types of bacteria that are common include: Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium.

Our probiotic powder consists of a mix containing six lactobacillus varities and three Bifidobacterium varities which can be added to the chilled mix or to the cold mix when it is running in the batch machine. Adding the powder when the mix is hot kills the bacteria.

Probiotics can be added to any of our frozen desert products with the exception of sorbets. Just ask when orderig.
